Ann Ludwig

Director, Choreographer of A Ludwig Dance Theater since 1977, Ann Ludwig's work has been seen throughout the United States and Portugal, in Germany and Mexico. Ludwig is Professor Emerita of Dance at Arizona State University where she taught 1979 to 2003; prior to ASU, at University of Kansas, San Diego State University, and University of Iowa, where she chaired the Dance Program. She received an Arizona Governor¹s Award for Women Who Create; was named to Tempe list of All-American Women; an Alumni Achievement Award from North Dakota State University; Honorary Award from Arizona Dance Arts Alliance. She now serves on the Emeritus College Council; Board of Visitors for College of Human Development and Education, NDSU; Board of Arizona Dance Coalition. Ludwig received the Governor's Award for Arts in Education, 2011.
Beth C. Lessard
Professor Emeritus of Dance at Arizona State University, joined the ASU faculty in 1969 and served as Chair of the Department of Dance from 1977-1994. Dr. Lessard holds a Ph.D. in Biomechanics and Dance. She was honored in 1985 by the Governor as one of Arizona’s Women Who Create and was an Outstanding Dance Alumna of Texas Woman’s University. With A Ludwig Dance Theater, she performed in New York City, the East Coast, West Germany, and on a ten-week US Embassy tour of Portugal. She was Guest Teacher at the Federal University, Espirito Santo, Brazil; Salvador, Bahia, Brazil; and in Puebla, Mexico. She retired from ASU in 1999. Lessard received the Governor's Award for Arts in Education, 2012.
